New Release + Review: Hard Fall by Sara Ney

Release Date: August 18

"Hard Fall"
That's what my mom is always saying: "The bigger you are, the harder you fall." She's talking about love—I've never been in it myself, but that doesn't stop me from secretly matchmaking for my friends. Who would suspect me, a world class athlete, of meddling in other people's love lives? I love Love, especially when it’s not me who’s doing the falling…

"No Thanks."

That's what Hollis Westbrooke said when I asked her on a date. Well, propositioned her, actually—but it was all a big joke; one she doesn't think is funny. My stomach is in knots since I might actually like this girl so the joke is on me. Hollis’s father is my boss—and she doesn't date players.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall—especially when biggest player is me.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I absolutely loved this book! It was laugh out loud funny, sweet and tender, AND sexy as hell.

Trace "Buzz" Wallace is a pitcher for the team that Hollis Westbrook's father owns.

"Hey...sorry I called you sweetheart. I didn't realize you're actually super salty."

When they first meet, Hollis is anything but pleasant to Buzz. Yet, when confronted by her ex, it's Buzz that comes to Hollis's rescue - well he likes to think so - and thus begins an unlikely partnership. He scratched her back (albeit without her permission) so she scratches his.

Buzz isn't at all what Hollis expects him to be and it messes with her. She gives him what she thinks are unattainable characteristics (for somebody in his field) that she wants in a guy. Will Buzz prove that she was right all along or that maybe, just maybe, she just hadn't met the right guy yet?

This story was fast-paced and held my attention the entire time. These two characters complimented each other well.

Even though it's book 2 of the Trophy Boyfriends series, it can easily be read as a standalone.

Where most romcoms leave a little bit lacking with the heat factor, Buzz and Hollis had some pretty hot scenes.

The heat and the tender moments kept this story grounded and from being too silly while still being hilarious and everything we as readers needed Buzz's story to be.
