New Release + Review: Her Greatest Mistake by Eve L. Mitchell

Release Date: June 13

I knew the moment I saw Aiden that he was the kind of man who would break a woman’s heart. With his looks, he could grace the cover of any book or magazine.

Even as I got to know him, his hard no-nonsense attitude was alluring. He was as captivating as he was intense, and having his attention was as intoxicating as it was overwhelming. My pulse raced and my stomach fluttered when I was near him.

Yes, Aiden would break a woman’s heart. If she let him.

Maybe, even if she didn’t.

I didn’t mean to let him break mine. I didn’t mean to let him get so far under my skin that he got into my heart.

One moment of passion—that’s all it was. I was reckless. I was stupid.

I didn’t know.

He ripped my heart out without even breaking a sweat.

He said he could explain. I don’t want to hear his lies.

I was stupid that night, but I can’t be again. I can’t let him close enough to make the same mistake twice.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was such a complicated love story! Be prepared to be unprepared for the story this author delivers!

It started off as a fun enemies-to-lovers romance full of banter and growing passion.
Aiden got under Jemma's skin so much that she actually kicks him!

Then it shifts and becomes a complicated romance. Aiden wants trust but doesn't give any reasons for it. So how can Jemma or us readers trust him?

I love how the writer gave Jemma the confidence that she needed to get truth this story. She faces betrayals that would have had me wanting to curl up and drink my sorrow away.

The only issue I had was the choice of words/terms the author used. The characters kept flipping between an American accent to a British one in my head. Even with the warning that the British version was being used, there are some things that made it hard for me to picture with American characters. First -  English biscuits and American biscuits are not the same. While the character was looking for biscuits in the pantry, all I could think was how stale they would be left out in the open like that. Also, I  don't think I've heard a man from the states use the term bollocks. Even though it was cut off, I'm pretty sure this is what he was going to say.

Again- it didn't affect how I felt about the story and the plot - only their accents in my head.
