Going in I had my fingers crossed this would be the shortest book ever. Liam would swoop in and save Maddie and all would be well.
Did it happen? Hell no!
I can't even begin to describe my anxiety before even reading the first page. This is Maddie's story! I fell in love with her in Lennon's story and couldn't wait until I finally got my hands on her story. Maddie is a spitfire with absolutely no filter. But she also uses her words to hide her true emotions.
She has eyes only for Liam. She has pushed every button possible to get Liam's attention. Liam, even though strongly attracted to Maddie, has pushed her away time and time again. The reasons for his behavior surfaced in Always Mine. (The way the authors weave these stories is absolutely INCREDIBLE!)
However, Liam's troubles from book one are far from over and Maddie's life gets upheaved because of it.
Then someone unexpectedly stole my heart in this book. So much so that it would have been forgiven if more would have happened. Let's just say I'm ready to go to Alabama!
I have to say I was pretty stoic through most of it but the watch scene and then the letters had me in tears.
This book is filled with lots suspense and gets super emotional at times. That's not even including the romance, chemistry, and heat from Liam and Maddie.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this duet series with the Corrigan sisters and their men. Each duet told one of the pairs' story yet it kept the other two duos relative so they never disappeared before or after their stories happened.
