Oh My Goodness! Hazel Grace came to play and to win with Siren.

I've never read anything by Hazel Grace but based on my reaction to Siren, I will be adding her books to my TBR pile. 

She took a classic and personal favorite of mine and spun it, reshaped it and made it her own.

She had me believing this story was going to go down this path that was going to be the more basic, typical "who you trusted will break your heart" path. And in a sense she did but not the way I thought it was going to go. She placed decoys in the story and the went below the belt when it came time for the punch! I wasn't expecting a Sinister Fairy Tale to have me sobbing like a freaking baby! Holy cow! It was totally unexpected and the way she delivered it and carried it through was pure genius! While I was mad at her for it at the time, had she went any other way, I don't know if I would have given her the five stars.

If you are a fan of fairy tale retellings and a fan of a more darker story, then put Siren at the top of your list! It's THAT good!
