Violet Moore is in love with a man who hates her.

Well, to be fair, she kinda deserves it.

On her eighteenth birthday, she got drunk and threw herself at him, causing a
huge scandal in their sleepy suburban town.

Now everyone thinks she’s a slut and he has disappeared. Rumor has it that he’s
been living up in the mountains of Colorado, all alone and in isolation.

But Violet is going to make it right.

She’s going to find him and bring him back.

No matter how cruel and mean he is, how much he hurts her with his cold-hearted
and abrasive ways, she won’t give up.

And neither will she think about his tempting lips or his sculpted muscles or
his strong hands. The hands that she wants on her body, touching her, feeling
her skin…

The hands that make her want to forget everything and kiss Graham Edwards – Mr. Edwards, actually – again.

Because you don’t go around kissing your best friend’s dad, do you?

Even though that’s all you ever dream about.

Rating ⭐⭐⭐

An eighteen year old girl crushing on her best friend's dad. She makes a move and kisses him and gets caught. Both of their lives are changed from that particular moment. Now all she wants to do is make it right with him.

I have been wanting to read this since the blurb was released. This author has written fabulous stories that grip me and hold me captive until the end. Even then I don't want to let go.

This book is broken into three parts and where it gets tricky. The first part had me glued. I was addicted. The build up and angst was spot on.

Then there is part two. I had a complete disconnect from the story. It was as if I was reading about two different characters. The Violet in part one was not the same Violet in part two. I even went back and skimmed through to make sure I didn't miss an important pivotal moment. The chemistry was hot AF, so that was a plus. It was Violet herself that seemed to have done a 180 somewhere.

Part three??? Went back to the Violet I was introduced to in part one - which helped save this book.

There is pain and angst and regret filled within this story. This is what hooks the reader. The way the author handles overcoming all of this (or not...) is what makes me love her stories.

As a whole, I liked the story. I was disappointed with the change in Violet's character during the story, but loved the dark undertones that were there throughout waiting for a silver lining.
