At thirty, he never thought he'd still be unmarried and living with his parents. And with the added stress of his poor health, he's convinced the only thing within his control is the success he's found as a rockstar.
After reconnecting with his childhood best friend, Chad sets into motion a new plan to regain control over his happiness, and things start looking up. But when he finds himself diagnosed with a potentially debilitating chronic illness, he begins to wonder...
Is this as good as it's going to get? Or is it at all possible for a guy like him to get everything he's ever wished for?
“What’s that look for?” she asked with a giggle, as she reached around to secure her bra.
I shook my head as a smile stretched over my lips. “Nothin’. Just …” I swallowed at the warmth crowding my heart and my lungs. “You’re my best friend.”
Mine. The word was simple and yet held the world. It was an agreement, it was possession. It was an invisible contract that lingered between us, and I would’ve gladly used my own blood to sign on the dotted line.
But instead of pricking a finger and sealing the deal, I simply nodded, as only two words left my mouth.
“I’m yours.”
Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Kelsey Kingsley has done it again! I love reading her books because they make me fall in love with falling in love!
I have been following this band ever since Daisies & Devin. They have found normalcy in a life that is anything but. Forget The Stars is Chad's story.
Chad and Molly have known each other since they were babies and were best friends yet high school put an end to that.
Now Chad is 30 and he's not where he wants to be with his personal life.
Fate (or is it mothers?) brings Chad and Molly back in each other's lives. The fact that Molly still knows Chad better than others has him questioning a lot of things.
This story touches on a delicate subject that is usually considered taboo to talk about, yet the way Kelsey Kingsley wrote it, it makes us realize it's not a disease that should be swept under the rug and is more commonRyan wet realize.
I loved the development of Chad and Molly's love story. It's build up kept me on my toes.
Then there is the infamous bromance! I am so glad Kelsey kept this a big part. Sebastian and Chad have one of the best bromances I have read. Just when things get a little too deep, too raw or too emotional, Sebastian pops up and lightens the mood. His part was needed in the story to give balance to it.
The only thing that kept me from giving this a five-star rating was the sex scenes. To me, there was an important build up to the first sex scene that spanned several chapters. And yet when it finally happened, it was so fast I didn't even realize they were through. I felt like this particular scene was the one everyone (Chad, Molly AND the reader) were anticipating.
Beyond this, the story was fantastic! As always, Kelsey brings the best soundtrack to her stories! I can't wait to read Greyson's story!
Kelsey Kingsley is an author of eight, almost nine, novels. She lives in New York with her family and a cat named Ethel. She loves tattoos, music, makeup, and Frasier reruns. Kelsey is a Slytherin. She curses a lot, and she fucking hates cheese.
