Bad Boy Blues by Saffron A. Kent
Cleopatra Paige hates one thing in this world -- just one -- and his name is Zachariah Prince.
In grade school, he pulled at her pigtails. In middle school, he spread false rumors about her. And in high school, he ruined her prom.
She hates that his smirks are unfairly sexy. And she definitely loathes that his dark eyes seem to follow her everywhere. Sometimes, even in her dreams.
It doesn’t matter that he’s rich and popular or that he lives in a freaking mansion full of butlers and maids. He’s rude and arrogant, and she wants to stay as far away from him as possible.
But unfortunately for Cleo, she lives in the same freaking mansion as Zach.
Only he’s the prince and she’s the lowly maid who serves him.

First off - what an emotional story! It's dark and gritty and leaves the reader with just a touch of hope that everyone makes it out unscathed. It's beautifully written - I was highlighting pieces left and right. I did not want this book to end!
This book is one that you need to read without spoilers. So, as much as I WANT to discuss this story, I'm not.
There is this one thing that shows up from the very beginning and throughout the book that left me scratching my head until I got to that "aha" moment and it clicked and then I thought to myself that the author is a freaking genius for doing this. It's also the moment my heart broke a little and the story took an emotional turn.
What makes this stand out? The level of vulnerability that was shown for these characters. The author gave each character strengths as well as weaknesses.
There was one thing I didn't like because I was left feeling so sad - yet it made it realistic. The way things were left with Art. I sobbed like a baby! I didn't realize how emotionally attached I was to him! Again, I get it but man my heart broke!!!
If you are looking for a light read to pass the time, this isn't for you. BUT if you want to read something that is thought-provoking, emotional and memorable, then you NEED to read this.
